30.8.13 Brickwork Commenced Today

Got a message from McDonald Jones that our brickwork has started today. I guess they were waiting for our third progress payment to be be payed before they give the site supervisor the go ahead. The Frames have been finished 10 days back and we were waiting for our bank to carryout the inspection and make the payment. Finally the frame payment was made yesterday and the brick work started today.

The bricks that we have chosen are form the standard range and we didn't had much option as we are building in high saline soil. It was for this reason that our slab was H2 too. Our brick is Austral Urban One Silver and for the pillars at the front we have used Urban One Pepper. We didn't wanted to spend on bricks as we will get the front acrylic rendered so no point spending on bricks.

Will be visiting our BLOCK on the weekend to see how things are shaping up.....

26.8.13 Windows and Plumbing Completed

All the windows and door frames for our house have been put in. The window colour is colourbond Monument Matt. We have gone with obscure glazing for the ensuite and bathroom and the rest is clear glazing.

Pluming have also been completed and we have an electrical box on the side of the house too. Hopefully fascias and guttering are next. Haven't got the dates yet but I am hoping it will start this week.

18.8.2013 Frames Update

Today we went for our usual Sunday visit and we were really impressed with how quick our frames have been put up. To our surprise the house looks so high from the street. Our Roof pitch is 26 degrees and looks hot just watching from the distance.
