10.3.2014 Finally Moved in!!!

So its been a while since I shared anything. Finally we have moved in this weekend. We have been moving things since our handover so we didn't had heaps to move. It took us only 4 hours and our removalist were great. They were quick and efficient and did what they had to do.

Since my last post we have had all our light fittings completed. Our alarm system was installed. We Have gone with Bosch 4 sensor system. I really love the remotes that come with the alarm system,  so easy and handy. Our Reverse cycle ducted Air condition have also been installed. We went with Fujitsu 15kw 4 zone 10 outlets. Its a very good size system for our house.  Our internet and phone is connected too. We went with iinet and got BOB2  device which helps us run our voip net2phone. It looks great I should mention. Our bins from the council have also been delivered. I have to get a new garbage bin as they they delivered a smaller bin to what I requested. Should come in this week sometime.

Our flyscreens and roller blinds were installed on Saturday and they look great. We can now open the windows and alfresco doors without worrying about flies getting in. Just waiting on planation shutters to get the windows completed.

We still have to get the outside land leveled and get it turfed so that should hopefully happen in few weeks and as you would expect more shopping to decor the house. So many things we need and money is flying through the account. I only wish our pays come a bit quicker..HEHE

So that's about it so far. We are trying to unpack everything away and clean the house as it is still really dusty from all the internal work we got done.

15.2.2014 Light Fittings Update

Finally all our light fittings have been changed now. The house is starting to look more like how we envisaged. The baton lights from the builder did not do any justice to the place. Our kitchen looks really hot with the down lights and the lovely chrome pendant lights. All the appliances have also been installed and make the kitchen complete. 

Living Room too looks fab with so many down lights. In our corridor we have down lights connected with sensors which gives a great feel as you come out of the rooms. All our lights at front of the house are also connected with sensor which is looking good too. Our electrician have also installed our Bosch alarm system so we are at peace that the house is secured. We are getting our Air con installed next week. we have gone with  15kw 4 zones and 9 outlets Ducted Inverter system. 

I would really like to thank our electrician Tony and his boys for such a great job. 

Meanwhile all the measurements for the blinds, Plantation shutters and flyscreens for windows have been completed and all orders have been placed. Hoping for the flyscreens and blinds to be installed in a week or two but our Plantation Shutters might take up to 6 weeks. Our 2 Nick Scali lounges for the living area have also been delivered and we are still taking boxes every time we visit our house. Few more weeks before we move in. 

Outside is a mess at this stage and needs a lot of work. Thats something we will tackle after we move in as our next door house is few weeks away from completion and I spoke to the builder who is going halves with us in leveling the land and we will get it done in one go and then get the fencing done. Something I noticed today that our rainwater tank is full and excess water is coming out through an overflow pipe and into the backyard. The back yard was flooded with water and the soil was so soft that I almost got stuck in the soft mud. The overflow outlets should have been connected to the drainage system but looks like its not or something is not right. I will be ringing my SS on Monday to get some answers as MDJ charged us $2000 for the connection.

1.2.2014 Driveway Update

So driveway is almost done with sealer still to be applied to finish it off. Alfresco is also done but I could not take pics today but will get some when I am at the house next. Now I need to shop for tiles to get alfresco and porch signed off. Today i picked up all the light fittings which are getting installed next week. Next thing I need to get sorted is the front and backyard. I am thinking of getting a retaining wall done at the front from the 2.5 pallet of  leftover bricks.

30.1.2014 Driveway and Alfresco

The driveway and alfresco is in the process of getting completed. Concrete is being poured tomorrow morning and it should be ready by this weekend, We are also meeting up with the blinds guy tomorrow to get the measurements done so we can then place orders for our blinds and plantation shutters. 

Next week we have electrician booked in to get all our light fitting and down lights installed so that would be a 2-3 day job. We have also started packing and moving boxes each time we visit our house so less moving in the end. 

25.1.2014 House Is Ours

Its such a good feeling that we have the keys and can enter the house at our own will. Our handover was real smooth as the house was all cleaned and the issues were all fixed up. There were not much issues to start off with so that wasn't difficult. I met up with the SS at 7.30 am did a formal walk checked the keys and few documents to sign , handed the final payment cheque and there we go the handover was done. Nothing much to do after that I went to work.

As our appliances haven't been installed yet our SS have booked a delivery and installation date for next week to get that signed off. Driveway and alfresco concreting is getting done next week and the land will be leveled aswell as the bob cat will be on the premises to dig the driveway so my driveway guy offered me to get it leveled with no cost. Electricians is also booked  for week after who will install all the light fittings and the down lights around the house. NBN connection is booked in for next week. Furniture delivery is the week after.We are meeting up with the blinds guy to get the shutters and blinds measured and also get the fly screens ordered.

Today I took my wife to see the house as she haven't been inside for a while. She was amazed as to how good  it looks and the end result is amazing.  Although the house has been cleaned it still need heaps of spray and wipe to get it sparkling. All the construction in the area doesn't help too when there's houses getting build all around. We have started to take boxes of stuff slowly but we wont be moving in straightaway as we want everything to be complete before we move in.  So this long weekend looks like we will be just packing and dropping boxes at our new home.
